Partial Capitalization Of Assets (Doc ID 2219991.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 24, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion Assets Cloud Service - Version 11.1.11.1.0 and later
Oracle Fusion Assets - Version 11.1.11.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Standard Functionality: You cannot partial capitalize an asset - it is all or nothing.

Alternate Solution:

You could possibly transfer source line cost to another CIP asset, then capitalize the original asset.

For example, you have a CIP asset with multiple source lines (SL):
SL1 COST = 1000
SL2 COST = 2000
SL3 COST = 3000

You could setup a zero-cost CIP asset, then transfer SL2 and SL3 to the new asset, then capitalize the original asset with SL1 COST = 1000.

Is this feasible in Fusion? This was possible in EBS R11 and R12.
