Symptoms

Error while doing Salary change after Promotion

We are receiving error while doing salary change in production. Please see the error below.

ERROR

FAULT_NAME=selectionFailure::FAULT_TEXT=com.oracle.bpel.client.BPELFault: faultName: {{http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2003/03/business-process/}selectionFailure} messageType: {{http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension}RuntimeFaultMessage} parts: {{ summary=The <from> value is invalid. The result of from-spec is null. Either the from node value or the xpath query in the from node value was invalid. According to BPEL4WS spec 1.1 section 14.3, the from node value should not be empty. Verify the from node value at line number 831 in the BPEL source. }


STEPS
-------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Person Management
2. Search for employee
3. Select 'Manage Salary' Task
4. Change/Update salary
5. Submit
6. Appears to be approved and correct, but receive notification with error.
