Element Input Validation Formula Unable To Handle Update/correciton Of Existing Element Entry (Doc ID 2243175.1)

Last updated on APRIL 11, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion Global Payroll Cloud Service - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

We have an element called Save As You Earn. This element is set as multiple entries allowed.
There is input value called Amount on this element. This holds the weekly amount.
The total of weekly amount across all element entries for an employee at a given time cannot be > 125.

To perform this Validation we created an Element Input Validation formula. In this formula we refer to the DBI of Amount entry value.
We addup the values of this DBI's with the user entered value on the new element entry input value.
if the total is > 125, we raise an error.

This works fine when a new entry is created, But it does not work as expected when an existing entry value is updated/corrected.
