Goal
A bounce is when an email is sent but is then returned with a notice that the message was not delivered. Bounces fall into two categories: "Hard" and "Soft". Hard bounces are permanent and email to them should not be attempted again. Soft bounces are temporary and can be re-tried. Retrying hard bounces can contribute to reputation and deliverability problems.
