Unable Login from Checkout Out Page with Certain Types of Browsers

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Unable to log in from the checkout page using the following browsers:
- Internet Explorer (tested on version 11)
- Safari (tested on version 10.0.3)
The issue does not occur with the following browsers.
- Chrome (version 56)
- Firefox (51.0.1)
OS: Tested on Windows 10 and OSX 10.12.3
1. Log in to bring up a storefront page.
2. Add an item to a cart.
4. Try log in using an user account on the checkout page. --> The login fails and “Your session has expired due to inactivity. Please log in again” error shows up.
401 Unauthorized error occurs with the following request.
