Sales Cloud Outlook Plugin Functionality Disappears After Outlook Restart (Doc ID 2245249.1)

The Sales Cloud Outlook plugin functionality disappears after Outlook restart

Customer has version 3.7.1 of the Outlook plugin for Sales Cloud installed. After closing and starting Outlook, the functionality of the plugin disappears.

The only way they have found to bring it back is to run the installer again. The plugin is removed from Windows control panel as well as from Task manager in Outlook. However it shows in the COM Add-ins list.

Admin has to enable Windows install policy every time for user to be able to install.

Outlook plugin should not be uninstalled when closing Outlook

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Install Outlook plugin.
2. Close outlook and start it again.
3. Outlook plugin is not present in the task bar and also not present in Windows control panel.

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, user cannot use Outlook plugin
