P6 BI Publisher Report Excel Output Does Not Auto Fit the Column Size According to the Data

Report in Excel should have column widths that are proportional to the data in the column.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Create the data Model with queries as per report requirement:
    1. Design the .rtf (rich text file) as per requirement.
    2. Create the report and upload the .rtf to that report.
    3. Use standard report Excel output properties in BI Publisher application.
    4. Successfully create the data model and report.
    5. Run the report from BI Publisher (BIP) with specific parameters.
    6. Open the report.
    7. Choose output format as Excel (xls).
    8. See the output has all columns the same width as the .rtf that was uploaded with non-expanded columns.
  2. Export to Excel
  3. Issue occurs, Excel report has same-width columns

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot view the report data easily.
