Error 'XML file schema validation failed. Please select a valid file. Cannot schedule job.' During XML Import (Doc ID 2254050.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to import an XML project via P6 Professional or P6 Web, the following error occurs:

XML file schema validation failed. Please select a valid file.
Cannot schedule job. Please contact administrator to correct the problem.

The <XML file name>.SummaryImportLog.txt contains the following error:

java.lang.Exception: XSD validation failed. Terminating the process.

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to P6 Web or P6 Professional.
  2. Attempt to import the Primavera XML file.
  3. Observe the first reported error.
  4. View the SummaryImportLog.txt file and observe the second reported error.
