Accounts: Custom Lists (Saved Search) Return Accounts In Wrong State

On : version, Accounts, Contacts, Households

If you create a custom list searching by the native State field (operator Equals = Tx) it returns Accounts not in Tx.

It is expected that if you do this search, it will only return accounts which are in Texas.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Go to the Accounts page
2. Go to Advanced Search
3. Add field State
4. Search State Equals 'Tx'
5. See that the accounts returned are not all from Tx.

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users can be confused as to why there are accounts being returned that are not from Tx.
