Engagement Engine code preventing web crawlers from indexing customer's pages

The customer is using Engagement Engine on his external pages that are indexed by Googlebot. They are complaining that the indexing of these pages has run into issues because the EE code is preventing it.
They mentioned that "Googlebot can't access this resource because we disallow it so it's reporting errors in their webmaster tools and Stubhub SEO team is concerned.
I have checked the https://rules.atgsvcs.com/robots.txt and it seems that Engagement Engine does not allow web crawlers by default.
Is there anything the customer can perform on his side to change this or is this the expected behavior and there is no working around it?
