User Preferred Date Format In European Format And Cannot Query By Example In Manage Journal Page (Doc ID 2278223.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 04, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion General Ledger Cloud Service - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On version, Create and Manage Journals

User set preference date format in European format dd/MM/yy. Journals have posting date as of for instance 15/05/2017.

However, when user goes to filter on date with 15/05/2017, it gives the following error.

Error: The date is not in the correct format.
Enter a date in the same format as this example: 11/29/1998

If user enters a US date format, the system returns nothing, presumably because it does not realize that 05/15/2017 equals 15/05/2017.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Set date format in User preference to European format dd/MM/yy (19/05/17).
2. Create a new Journal and post it with date May 19th 2017
3. Navigate to Manage Journals and search under Posting Date in Manage Journals Query by Example (QBE); by
selecting above date from the calendar and no rows seen. Enter 19/05/2017 in the Posting Date filter and get this error.
