When some sensitive product info such as item price is updated and published to store front, the updated contents will be indexed immediately. However, the indexing job takes time. Before the updated contents are fully indexed, the existing indexed contents will be served for some pages such as product list page, search results page, etc. This will lead to discrepancy between the previously indexed contents and the latest updated contents.

When the change is item price, it may lead to confusion. Users will different price on product listing page than that on product detail page or checkout page, especially if the price is raised since users will see higher price at checkout than the price on product list page. Though raising price doesn't occur often, it may be necessary sometimes.

The goal is to minimize the impact of discrepancy between indexed and latest updated contents.
