SAML Service Provider Expiration Is Set Too Soon - One Month From When Metadata URL Is Accessed (Doc ID 2286329.1)

Last updated on JULY 13, 2017

Applies to:

Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management Cloud Service - Version 16.2.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
--------------------
Cloud SAML Metadata EntityDescriptor, by default, sets the validUntil attribute date (which indicates the Service Provider metadata expiration) one month in the future to when the metadata url is accessed.

Example:

If an IdP exceeds the metadata expiration, the IdP can trigger expiration warnings and/or indicate "trusted relationship with the entity will not be functional".  Exceeding the expiration does not prevent SAML SSO authentication from succeeding.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
--------------------
Utilize a Service Provider metadata expiration which extends longer than one month to improve operational efficiency for cloud customer IdP Administrators who require the SP metadata to be updated when the metadata expires.
