Sales Cloud/Gmail Integration Side Panel Not Updateable

We are testing the integration extension between Sales Cloud and Gmail.
We are able to open the side panel in Gmail and to work with it. We have been able to create a contact from an email using the side panel, configure the user connection...
However, once the contact is created and the information is obtained in the side panel, we are not able to update any existing data, including the User connection.

Is that standard functionality? Should not we be able to update the records using the side panel?
