Error "Unable to Send Mail..." Occurs When Trying to Get Mobile App in P6 Team Member

Information in this document applies to any platform.
When attempting to get mobile app in P6 Team member, the following error occurs.
"Unable to send email. The email server configured in Primavera P6 Administrator is not responding. Try again or contact your administrator."
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Login to Team Member.
- Select User drop-down --> "Get P6 Mobile" link.
- Select the iphone or android icon under step 1.
- Enter email address and click "Send".
- Error message seen
