Contact SOAP Web Service Is Pulling Back Multiple Results With The Same Party Id (Doc ID 2292569.1)

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

Contact SOAP service is pulling back multiple results with the same Party Id

We are using the Contact SOAP service (findContact) to pull Sales Cloud records into our business intelligence tool. Recently, it has been brought to my attention that users are seeing duplicate contact records in their reports from Sales Cloud. Upon further investigation, we have identified certain records in the service response that have the same Party Id with slightly different data in the response payload.


EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Web service should not return duplicate records.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Make a findContact ws call to Sales Cloud.
2. Response has duplicate contact information.


BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users are seeing duplicate results in WS response for same PartyId thereby creating duplicates in Target system.

 Contact Points with multiple Primary Phones.
