ExaCS: Accessing Database Service with Hyphenated Name Fails With Status=500 Error (Doc ID 2299601.1)

Created a new database service in Exadata Cloud Service (ExaCS) with a hyphen/dash in its name. 

For example:  DB-exa1

When attempting to access that instance, the Cloud User Interface fails generating a popup window with generic error: Server connection failed. (status=500)
