Repeated Error 'java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException' in WebLogic Server Log Causes the P6 Environment to Crash Due to System Capacity Issues (Doc ID 2300801.1)

Symptoms

The following error is repeatedly listed in the WebLogic AdminServer.log file, and the server eventually experiences capacity issues.

<$TIMESTAMP> <Critical> <EmbeddedLDAP> <$hostname> <AdminServer> <VDE Replication Thread> <> <> <> <1502725980516> <BEA-000000> <java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Start the P6 EPPM Weblogic Domain.
  2. Review the <Oracle Middleware home>\user_projects\domains\<P6 EPPM domain>\servers\AdminServer\logs\AdminServer.log file.
  3. Note file size growth and the reported error contained in the file.
