How to Balance Content Update Concurrency and Server Performance to Avoid "Collections unavailable"? (Doc ID 2303178.1)

Goals are to balance content update concurrency with Admin server performance, to optimize import job schedules, and to avoid intermittent slowness on Admin server.

For instance, accessing catalog tab leads to following error:

This can occur during some heavy processing by a scheduled job. Commonly this could be a scheduled import job. For instance, a customer schedules hourly import jobs and the imported content size is quite large. Running such a big import job will certainly use much of the server's resource and degrade the server's performance serving the Admin user interface.
