Error When Attempting to Print a Document [Could not write to file]

Information in this document applies to any platform.
When attempting to print a document as PDF, an error appears in the pop-up and no document is displayed. The error shows the following:
An unknown error (class com.bm.xchange.util.BMSystemException) has occurred. Please contact your system administrator.
To help us track this error, please note the date and time in your report: xxxx-xx-xx xx:xx:xx.
Could not write to file.
Upon opening the print server logs the following error can also be found:
Caused by: org.apache.fop.apps.FOPException: No meaningful layout in block after many attempts. Infinite loop is assumed. Processing halted.
