Custom Fields Do Not Show Up Under Custom Subject Area

Symptoms

On : 11.1.11.1.0 version, Accounts, Contacts, Households

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Customer has a custom child object "Strategies and Objectives" under the "Account" object.
Customer is able to view "Strategies and Objectives" in BI under Criteria > Subject Area
However, customer cannot see all fields

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Customer expects all fields to be available under Criteria > Subject Area

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create a custom child object under a standard object.
2. Under Reports and Analytics, go to Criteria > Subject Area.
3. Some fields are missing.

BUSINESS IMPACT

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot report on the missing fields.
