Error When Attempting to Send Email: "Your email server has not been configured"

When attempting to email an issue from issue portlet in Dashboard, the following error occurs:
Your email server has not been configured. Please contact your administrator.
Steps to Reproduce
1. Log into P6 web.
2. Access the dashboard screen - My Issues portlet.
3. Click the gear preceding the issue.
4. Choose Email Issue Details.
