Lead Has Lost Associations With Contacts (Doc ID 2323251.1)

We have leads where the primary contact field has to be reselected (even if the contact is already there, and I can see it form the Contact tab under Lead). I can see this from the fact that if the contact is already picked, there is an X near the name, instead now there is still the picklist to open.

The customer says that in the past was not like that.
