On : 11.12.1.0.0 version, Opportunities

Why the custom UserName field value is null in task created from workflow?

There is a formula field which displays logged in users First Name and Last Name. It displays value on UI but in task created from workflow the value as 'Null'.
Is it that workflows cannot consume formula fields ?
