(Doc ID 2328882.1)
Last updated on MARCH 12, 2021
Applies to:Oracle Compute Cloud Service - Version N/A and later
Linux x86-64 on Oracle Public Cloud
“Linux x86-64” referenced above relates only to “Oracle Linux x86-64”.
The suggested recommendations are ONLY for IaaS Compute Images.
PaaS customers should not apply it and instead need to follow up specific PaaS service OS patching procedures. They may be different for various PaaS services.
The following settings are required when running Oracle Linux guest virtual machines in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Classic (OCI-C).
Failure to follow these recommendations could result in noticeably slower IO, instability and/or in certain cases VM hang.
NOTE: All of these settings will be available in Compute Oracle Linux Images in release 17.3.4 and above. It’s the default selection when creating a new Linux VM.
