Information in this document applies to any platform.
Requirement is for the approvers for a given line should go in serial.
However, each requisition line by itself should go in parallel for approval.
- Line1: Goes to an approval group. Group has 3 members . Should go in serial
- Line 2: Goes to an approval group. Group has 3 members. Should go in serial
- Line 1 and Line 2 should go in parallel.
With current functionality, if rules are written in serial composite , then line 1 and line 2 will also be in serial.
A requisition can have many lines and each requisition can have different approvers.
Line 1 approvers need not wait for line 2 approvers and wise versa.
Ideally when there are two or more lines with different approval groups for each line,
then there should not be dependency between the lines to approve and it should go in parallel.
Because current functionality uses serial composite, approval group for line 2 would be able to
approve only once line 1 approvers have approved.
This dependency needs to be eliminated.
Users cannot switch to parallel participant either since approvers within the approval group need to approve in series.
