Need Advice On How To Set-up "Best Price" Discount

(Doc ID 2334751.1)

Last updated on JULY 09, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion Order Management Cloud Service - Version 11.12.1.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

1. Describe how the current product is insufficient.
Fusion Pricing does not provide the ability to evaluate multiple discounts and return the "Best Price". Currently
Fusion pricing only supports pricing based on precedence, i.e the first qualifying discount evaluated.
Finally, in EBS advanced pricing supports both "Best Price" and Precedence based discounts.

2. Provide a detailed description of the Enhancement Request.
This enhancement request details how fusion pricing needs to be extended to support the following scenario's
Scenario 1

1. Default Price for Item X = £100 (Category = Shower Heads)
2. Customer AA gets 10% discount on all Shower Heads so usually pays £90 (SPG) (Matrix Discount)
3. Customer W has a promotion on item X, which is £89.99 (SPO) (Simple Discount)
4. The promotion price is selected as this price is cheaper than the normal price customer AA gets (£89.99 vs £90)

Scenario 2

1. Default Price for Item X = £100 (Category = Shower Heads)
2. Customer AA gets 10% discount on all Shower Heads so usually pays £90 (SPG) (Matrix Discount)
3. Customer AA has negotiated a further 10% for a period of 6 months. So will pay £81 for 6 months (Simple Discount)
4. Customer W has a promotion on item X, which is 15% off (SPO) however customer AA is currently paying £81 so does not qualify for the SPO

Note:
1. A Promotion (SPO) discount can be a percentage or a fixed price for a period
2. We use Standard Items a PTO Kits these scenarios are applicable to both

3. If possible, identify how the product can be changed to achieve the desired result.
Provide the ability to have an option on a pricing Algorithms to base the evaluation on best price. This may require the concept of
discount buckets. The output of each bucket can be evaluated on a "Best Price" basis.
