Unable To Attach Contact Owner Into Opportunity Team As Owner (Doc ID 2337465.1)

Since pod upgrade to, all Opportunities created by a user  does not include the User within the Opportunity Team, thus resulting in  the error:
"You do not have permission to perform that operation. Caused by: Operation Failed: Edit. Record Type: Opportunity. Access Level: Read/Create".
Prior to the upgrade, all Opportunities created by a user included the user within the Opportunity Team.
