Why Workflow Cannot Be Triggered by the Custom Related Information Fields

- We have created two custom related information field in Custom Object 5:
o Quote Sales Stage -> based on Custom Object 4 field ‘Sales Stage’
o Quote Confidence -> based on Custom Object 4 field ‘Confidence Level’
- We are observing that every time the value of the corresponding fields in Custom Object 4 change, these custom related information fields do get repopulated
- We have developed a workflow ‘QLI Sales Stage Test’ on Custom Object 5 on trigger event ‘When Modified record saved’ with a condition on the change of value for these custom related fields
- However this workflow is not getting triggered. Oddly enough, we are also observing that even though the custom related information field values change, the ‘Modified Date’ on the Custom Object 5 record never changes
