Some Values in Item Template Not Applied On New Item Created

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

Template applied in item doesn't work
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

New Item Template when selected during Item Creation should get applied
STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Go to Manage Item Classes > Search and Select the Item Class for which the new Template should be created
2. Click Templates and Formats tab > create a new template with Inventory Item = No and Save
3. Open Create Item task > enter the Master Org and above Item Class > select the above created Item Template
4. Navigate to Specifications > Inventory > in Material Control, see that the Inventory Item is displayed as 'Yes'
