Unable To Add Ineligible Products In Account Assets

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Customer has a requirement, wherein a sales user should be able to add product items which are not "eligible for sale" as Account Assets.
Basically these will be old products which the organization doesn't sell any more but are still being serviced by them to the clients as part of their earlier sale.
If this functionality is not available right now, customer would like an ER to be raised for this.
