On : 11.12.1.0.0 version, Leads, Sales Campaigns

Lead Rejection restrict standard functionality of setting owner as blank.


When a lead is rejected as per the standard functionality its primary owner field gets blanked out. We found a script on support web to add owner.
How To Set The Owner of a Rejected Lead ? (Doc ID 2113331.1).
We are using this script, but what we observed is the Owner is populated only in the Owner field in edit page but there is no Owner present in the sales team.
To add Owner in sales team we added small script in the script mentioned in document but we are getting OOTB error messages when record is updated.
Need a way to add owner into the Sales Team as well.
