Product Enhancement - Use Of Rate History To Return Rates (Doc ID 2350633.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 06, 2020

Oracle Fusion Global Payroll - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

The user is trying to build overtime formulas based on the business requirement.
The overtime rate is based on an hourly rate based on salary and also a collection of allowances.
The approach the user is trying to use is the setup of an overtime hourly rate which is fed by a collection of other rates.
They need to return the rate in a formula.

The user understand there is a function called RATE_ENGINE which should return the rate.
The user thought the format of the formula text should be:

l_value = RATE_ENGINE('Overtime Rate - Hourly')

However this does not seem to work.
In the R12 Payroll there is mention of this function but no example of the format they need to use.

Please provide an example of the use of this function and any information you have on it.
An example formula would be very much appreciated.
Alternatively any other thoughts you have on the most suitable solution to the requirement would be very much appreciated.
