Error: "Could not connect to server" When Attempting To Login To P6 Mobile

Symptoms
When attempting to login to P6 Mobile (Team Member application for mobile), after scanning the QR on the screen the following error occurs.

Could not connect to server
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
---------------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Launch P6 Mobile app and populate the URL as:
http://server:port/p6tmws
2. Click authenticate. This will redirect you to their IDP and concurrently you'll receive a pop up stating "Could not connect to server" with an OK button.
3. After clicking the OK button you are redirected to the apps login screen.
BUSINESS IMPACT

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot login to P6 Mobile successfully.
