To understand whether Approvals that have been delegated could 'clash' with Vacation rules

For example there are two ways in which approvals can be delegated to another person.

1) Method 1 is to delegate the approvals from  "Home/About Me/My Account"/"Approvals Delegated to Others" tab (R12) or Home/Me/Roles and Delegations/"Approval Delegated to Others" tab (R13), and choose the person and the date period.

2) Method 2 is to set it up from BPM Worklist/Preferences/my rules/"enable vacation period" and choose the person and the date/time period

Both these methods achieve the same functionality although Method 1 (MyAccount) allows you to specify the category of the Approvals to be delegated (eg. Compensation/Talent/Manager etc) and Method 2 (vacation period) also allows a time portion to be specified.  This article is to understand whether it is possible for the delegations to clash with each other?
