Can't Create Opportunity

On : version, Opportunities

Customer is trying to save an opty but cannot select a product Group on revenue line because it won't list anyone.
This started happening after the upgrade to R12 three months according to customer.

Customer expect to be able to select the product group as he was able to do it before the upgrade.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Go to Opportunities
2. Create new opty
3. Try to select an a product group on revenue line but it won't populate anything
