Fusion Innovation: Ability to Create Multiple Items From a Concept When Child Component Alone is Converted Instead of the Parent Item in the Structure
(Doc ID 2373574.1)
Last updated on MARCH 28, 2019
Applies to:Oracle Fusion Innovation Management Cloud Service - Version 188.8.131.52.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
After the conversion of a Concept Component to an Item, it is possible for users to Save or Cancel the Parent Concept.
If the Parent Concept is Saved and then re-opened, the new Item has replaced the Component in the Concept Structure.
If the Parent Concept is Cancelled and then re-opened, the Component is retained in the Concept Structure BUT the new Item is created and retained in Product Development and Product Hub. Furthermore, if the cancelled Component conversion is performed again, another new Item is created.
The cancellation is not synchronized between Innovation Management and Product Development/Product Hub
Application should rollback or prevent creation of Items from the Concept Component until the Concept is saved - that way extraneous Items won't be created in Product Development/Product Hub should the user cancel the Concept
The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
1. Create a Concept within Fusion Innovation Management
2. Add Components to the Concept in order to create a structure
3. Select any Component line and convert it to an item. Then cancel the Concept without saving it.
