OAC: Setting Up An Email Server Fails With "There is a problem authenticating. Please check your username and password." (Doc ID 2376897.1)

Symptoms

An Email Server is being configured in Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) as per:  Setting Up an Email Server to Deliver Reports

The "Authenticated" option is selected, and a valid Username and password combination is supplied.

But the Test to verify that Oracle Analytics Cloud can connect to the mail server fails with the following message:-

SMTP server test failed: There is a problem authenticating. Please check your username and password.
