Information in this document applies to any platform.

An Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) user will login (/va) and create a data visualization project. When the "Add Data Set" screen display asking for the user to identify the data set or data model that should initially populate the VA project, the user will select the "Create Data Set" button, click on "File", navigate to the spreadsheet that they would like to upload, select it, format the data and columns the spreadsheet contains, and click "Add".

It appears that the initial set of permissions inherited by the data set do include provisioning the data set to be available and accessible only to the user who uploaded the spreadsheet. However, within 1 hour from adding the data set to OAC, those permissions systematically change to include all of the application roles assigned to that user as well, thus allowing the data set to be accessible to multiple additional users rather than just the original user.

How should permissions for uploaded data sets and data mashup work?
