The following error is received when executing the "" tool to extend the Domain in on-premise Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or Oracle Data Integrator Cloud Services (ODI-CS):

a fatal error has occurred: Task [] execution aborted, no datasource found

Note the JDBC data source configured in $DOMAIN/config/jdbc/LocalSvcTblDataSource-jdbc.xml uses a connection string such as:


For reproducing the behavior in ODI-CS, follow the Provisioning Oracle Data Integrator Cloud Service guide:


  1. Complete the steps up to "Updating the Java Cloud Service Domain".
  2. On task #4 in above section, run the "", and observe the error message.

Note the same behavior equally affects on-premise and cloud installations of ODI (including ODICS, DIPC and ADIPC).
