Cannot Login to P6 Professional Using Null Password (Connect Button is Grayed Out) (Doc ID 2381365.1)

Symptoms

P6 Professional release 18 does not allow a user to login without typing in a password. Therefore, the method of using a null password to reset the password does not work, and the user cannot login.

For example: If a user forgets the password to the SQLite DB, nulling out the password, then logging in with a username/<blank password> doesn't work.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Create a P6 R18 SQLite database (example: release 18.1)
  2. Open that SQLite db and run the following per How to Reset an Application User's Password in P6 Professional using SQLite (Doc ID 1967526.1)
    -update users set passwd = NULL;
    -commit;
  3. Try to log in with the user that was created when the db was created (example: admin)
  4. Notice CONNECT button will be grayed out
