Clarification On Deal Registration Approval Process

We are exploring the Deal Registration approval process.
It is mentioned that the person approving the deal should have a role as CSM ( 'Channel Sales Manager' ), but we are not using this role.
We are using other custom roles. How do we achieve this for person having a role of CAM ( 'Channel Account Manager' ) or COM ( 'Channel Operations Manager' )?
At this time you do not want to set the profile for default approver.
