Unable To Search For User On Owner Field Under Opportunity

Symptoms

On : 11.12.1.0.0 version, Opportunities

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
A specified user cannot be found on Owner field search in order to be set as Owner of Opportunity.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
The user should be found in the search results, to be assigned as Owner of Opportunity.
STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Navigator > Opportunity > Search for Opportunity
2. Owner > Search > Fill in the First name Field with the specified user
3. The user cannot be found in the Search results.

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:

Users are unable to be assigned as owners of Opportunities.
