Comparison between SRM SEM Report and Manual Report counting Twitter Direct Messages manually (Doc ID 2385141.1)

Goal

On : NA version, Listen and Analyze > Social Station

Why is there a mismatch of data between SRM reports such as SEM report and Engage report versus a manual report of Twitter messages (counted manually)?
There are 2 scenarios:
1. when exporting the data from Engage for a particular channel on a specific timeframe, the number of direct messages from SEM report/Engage export is different than the number of direct messages shown in manual report counted manually
2. when exporting the data from Engage for a particular channel on a specific timeframe, the number of mentions from SEM report/Engage export is different than the number of mentions shown for the same channel and date within Custom Analytics > Single Metric
