Error is thrown while editing Work Phone Number from incorrect value to correct value

The phone number is invalid. You must enter a valid phone type and phone number (HZ-120244)

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create a new Contact with valid Work Phone Number and click on ‘’Save and Continue. Contact is created successfully as expected.
2. Edit the Work Phone Number to an invalid number and click on ‘Save’. Error is thrown to populate valid phone number.
3. Again, edit the Work Phone Number to a valid one and click on ‘Save’. Still error is getting thrown to populate valid phone number which is not as expected.
