How To Attach Existing Storage Volumes to an Orchestration v2 (Doc ID 2388114.1)

Last updated on APRIL 19, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Compute Cloud Service - Version N/A and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

This article explains how to correctly attach existing storage volumes, created separately from the instance, to a Compute Classic (OCI-C Compute) instance backed by an orchestration v2.

If simply done by attaching the volume to the instance, then when the OCI-C Compute instance gets restarted or rebooted, the storage volume will not automatically get attach and it will again need to be reattached manually.

The correct way to do it is by updating the orchestration v2 used to create the instance.
