Symptoms

DB instance of 12.2.x version. Trying access EM express console , after providing user details , fails with following exception.

https://x.x.x.x:5500 is requesting your username and password. The site says: “XDB”

Entering credentials of SYS shows

Logon denied; insufficient privileges or invalid username/password
