[OCI BM LBaaS] Load Balancer SSL Redirection Problem with WebLogic Based Products (Doc ID 2393039.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 26, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A to N/A [Release 1.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

OCI Load Balancer as a Service (LBaaS) SSL termination is broken when used with Weblogic products. Traffic is redirected to the Single Sign-On (SSO) login page.  After successful authentication, a 403 forbidden error is observed.

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:

  1. Configure WebLogic with the SAML Identity Assertor
  2. Create SAML application in IDCS
  3. Create IDP Policy and map it with the Identity Provider and the SAML application created above
  4. Configure and test with OCI Loadbalancer; note that it is redirecting to the SSO login page; after successful authentication, see a 403 forbidden error
