Override Due Date Not Working

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Override Due Date not working

The workflow setup has 'Override Workflow Due Date' option set to "YES" but "Due Date" field is not editable in records even if it is configured as Editable Required.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
'Due Date' field should be editable.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create a record.
2. Move the record through the workflow steps. Notice that the 'Due Date' field is not editable.

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
Due to this issue, all BPs using Due Date fields are affected.
