Goal

Does Order Management support item orderability?

The requirement is to restrict customers from viewing or ordering specific items or item types. Businesses need to be able to order specific products depending on specific customers. Instead of being able to view and select all items for all customers in the sales orders window. For example, you may want to take an order only for a set of products for Customer A, which may not be applicable to Customer B.

There is a requirement to map Items and Categories to Customers, Regions etc to control who can order what. In a multi-divisional multinational organisation all customers will not have access and visibility to order all products, even within a business unit there could be differences in regional sales.

There needs to be the flexibility to determine by item and/or category those items that can be added to an order using a number of criteria.
